High Cross Lodge is a newly renovated property situated in the picturesque Lake District, offering the perfect combination of traditional charm with modern amenities, making it the ideal retreat for families or groups while exploring the stunning Lake District.Ā 

The lodge features three well-appointed bedrooms. The master bedroom on the ground floor includes a super king-size bed and an en-suite bathroom with a walk-in shower, toilet, and wash basin. Upstairs, two additional king-size bedrooms share a spacious family bathroom, which includes a walk-in shower, toilet, and wash basin. A third communal bathroom is located downstairs, featuring a charming cast iron roll-top bath, perfect for soaking after a day of adventure. All bathrooms are equipped with underfloor heating, providing a luxurious touch throughout your stay.Ā 

The living areas of High Cross Lodge are designed with comfort and relaxation in mind. The cozy living room features a flat-screen TV and an indoor fireplace, creating a welcoming space to unwind after a day of exploring. Each bedroom also includes its own TV, offering additional privacy and entertainment. The modern kitchen is fully equipped with everything needed for preparing meals, including a microwave, toaster, and a boiling tap with a filter, along with a full range of kitchenware. Most visitors find it easiest to drive, as having a car allows for flexibility when exploring the surrounding areas like Windermere and Ambleside, which are just a short drive away.

However, there are some public transport options to consider:Ā Ā Ā 

Trains: The nearest train station is in Windermere, about 10-15 minutes by car from Troutbeck. It offers direct services to Oxenholme on the West Coast Main Line, with connections to major cities like Manchester, London, and Edinburgh.Ā 

Buses: Regular buses connect Windermere and Ambleside to Troutbeck and other nearby villages – bus routes like Stagecoach 555 run between Kendal, Windermere, and Keswick, stopping in Troutbeck, but guests should check timetables in advance.Ā 

Taxis: Local reliable taxis are available, we recommend booking in advance. (We can also recommend some local companies!)Ā

A damage deposit is charged on the day of arrival, this is returned three days post check-out pending no damages or issues caused during the duration of your stay.Ā
