Lakeside Geo Dome Overlooking Windermere

Join us for a getaway in our stand out geo dome accommodation on the shore of Lake Windermere and enjoy the modern elevated camping experience without compromising on any of the luxuries of home. Kick back in the king size bed and relax while watching the sun set over the iconic view of Lake Windermere, there is nowhere that would offer you a closer look without being out on the lake itself! Surround yourself with nature and enjoy the great outdoors while still enjoying the modern surroundings of the dome.

A large statement kind sized bed, with a truly awesome view of Lake Windemere just 5 meters from your front door. There is a private toilet attached to the dome as well as a toilet and shower facilities available onsite. There is a kitchen unit along with a wood-burning stove as you settle in for the evening with a warm drink and the ambience of the area. 

The GeoDome is set up with basic electricity for lights and charging ports for phones and laptops. It, unfortunately, does not have the capacity to run things such as hair driers but the shower block on site has these facilities if you need them. ​

Eco logs are provided for the indoor log burner for the duration of your stay. Logs and charcoal are not provided for the fire pit/BBQ but can be purchased from the YMCA North Camp.

On-site there are a number of different activities available for those of you that are more adventurous and you are welcome to bring your own equipment if you fancy taking to the lake in your own time! 

The dome is located on a live campsite with tents that are pitched four meters or more away from the structure itself and would be unable to pitch in front of the viewing window and compromise the stunning views! All camping guests are instructed upon arrival that they are required at a minimum to pitch 2-4 meters from the dome and other tents.

Guests can drive to the pod itself and park close by.

The nearby YMCA offers a number of great activities on site for those that are more adventurous you can view these on the YMCA Lakeside website.

Parking is available on site and guests are welcome to pull up beside the dome, however, this is at your own risk – there is a chance that parking on the soft waterlogged ground resulting in getting stuck!. We recommend parking slightly uphill off the gravel pathway where the flatter, sturdy ground allows.

The Hammock when not in use is stored in a stripped canvas gag kept within the dome for ease of access.

Log Burning Stove
Logs and matches are provided for internal use but we suggest bringing your own charcoal for the fire pit. Guests are welcome to brig their own logs to burn.
A poker set and sturdy gloves are provided for maintaining the internal fire. A wooden handle attachment is kept close by for opening and closing of the log burner door. This should not be kept on top of the burner.
The fan on top of the burner will spin at low volume to circulate the hot air generated by the log burner to keep the dome well heated.

Dish Soap and a plastic basin are provided. The cleaning block provides clean running water for washing kitchen items. A clean tea towel, oven gloves, sponge and cloth are made available. Disinfectant for the kitchen surfaces and Bug Spray are located on the shelf.
