The Space
The Hut @Rawsons is a unique, handcrafted glamping-style hideaway, nestled in private woodland at the foot of Whitbarrow Scar. Set within the Lake District National Park, this peaceful, adults-only retreat offers an off-grid experience where comfort, tranquillity, and thoughtful design meet.
The space is meticulously arranged across two distinct areas. The Hut features a cosy, carpeted living space with a sofa, armchair, dining table, wood-burning stove, vintage record player, board games, and double French doors that open out to the trees. Just a few steps away, the Pod serves as a restful bedroom, complete with a king-size bed dressed in Siberian down pillows and duvet, luxurious linens, a stable door, and large landscape windows offering woodland views and glimpses of Whitbarrow.
Outside, the partially covered kitchen is fully equipped with a Sage oven and grill, a portable ceramic hob, Lavazza coffee pod machine, milk frother, toaster, kettle, fridge, and sink with hot and cold running water, along with crockery, utensils, and cookware. There is outdoor seating, overhead heating, and convenient storage. Additional cold storage, including a freezer and second fridge, is available in nearby farm buildings.
Two levels of private decking provide a choice of relaxing spaces. The upper deck includes a covered veranda with an armchair, a bar-height dining table, a BBQ area, and festoon lighting. The lower deck offers an inviting lounge with an outdoor sofa,
armchairs, coffee table, soft furnishings, and more lighting to enjoy long evenings outdoors.
Bathing facilities blend comfort with character, including a flushing toilet in a woodland-style cubicle, a hot outdoor shower, and a freestanding woodland bath with both hot and cold water—perfect for a soak beneath the canopy or under the stars.
There is no Wi-Fi at The Hut by design, encouraging you to disconnect and slow down. However, strong mobile signal is available for those who need to stay connected. Your stay includes everything you need for a comfortable start: bed linen, towels, bathrobes, tea, coffee, milk, breakfast basics, and a well-stocked pantry. A supply of firewood, kindling, and firelighters is also provided, with more available to purchase if needed.
Whether you are curling up by the fire, enjoying a morning coffee surrounded by birdsong, bathing under open skies, or setting off on the many walking trails just outside the door, The Hut @Rawsons is a place to restore, reconnect, and truly unwind in nature.
