Ferry View is a traditional Lakeland cottage in Bowness-on-Windermere, fully renovated to offer modern comfort. The cottage features three en-suite bedrooms, an open-plan living area with a fully equipped kitchen, and a cosy snug. Outside, enjoy a private patio with a 4-person hot tub and an enclosed garden room with a fireplace. Minutes from Bowness’s restaurants, cafes, shops, and Lake Windermere, it’s the perfect base for exploring the Lake District. 

The Space

The Ferry View cottage is a beautifully renovated traditional Lakeland cottage in Bowness-on-Windermere. Set over three floors, this cosy retreat offers the perfect blend of historic charm and modern convenience, making it ideal for families and groups. 

The cottage boasts three elegantly appointed bedrooms, each with a comfortable king or double bed and its own en-suite bathroom. All en-suites feature a wet room, toilet, and basin, providing ample privacy and convenience for guests. Bed linens and towels are provided for all guests.  

The open-plan living area is a welcoming space for relaxation and socializing. It includes a fully equipped kitchen with an electric kettle, microwave, toaster, cooking utensils, fridge-freezer, stove, oven, and a selection of pool-safe glassware and utensils. The dining table comfortably seats everyone, making it easy to enjoy meals together. The snug area offers a cosy spot to unwind, complete with an indoor fireplace, TV, and a selection of board games. 

Outside features multiple areas for relaxation, including a private patio at the front of the house which hosts the 4-person hot tub and comfortable seating, perfect for soaking in the fresh air. Additionally, there is an enclosed garden room with a sofa and a feature fireplace, providing a cosy retreat regardless of the weather.  

The Neighbourhood

Situated in the vibrant village of Bowness-on-Windermere, Ferry View cottage offers easy access to a variety of attractions and amenities. Just minutes away, you’ll find an array of restaurants, cafés, independent shops, galleries, and bars, as well as the stunning Lake Windermere.  

Bowness-on-Windermere is a bustling hub with a rich history and plenty of activities for visitors, from boating and water sports on the lake to exploring the scenic walking trails and enjoying the local arts and culture scene. The nearby World of Beatrix Potter Attraction is a family favourite, celebrating the beloved author’s legacy and characters. 

Guest Access

Guests have access to the entire house, ensuring a private and comfortable stay.  

Additionally, guests can enjoy the outdoor amenities, including the private patio with a 4-person hot tub available year-round, and the enclosed garden room with a fireplace.  

A drop-off point at the front of the property allows for convenient unloading of luggage. Ample parking is available to the rear of the cottage on Ferry View, clearly signposted, with a stairway leading down to the rear entrance of the cottage. 

Getting Around

The nearest train station is Windermere Station, a short drive away, offering connections to major cities and towns.  

Local buses and taxis are readily available, providing convenient transport options for exploring the surrounding area. 

Additional Information

We cannot accept pets and respectfully ask that you leave your furry friends at home for this particular trip! 

A Deposit of £200.00 is to be charged on the date of arrival and returned three days post check-out. This is charged to the card used to secure the booking.
