We have been using Ridgestone for two years and I must say we are very pleased with the projected returns they outlined. While our first year was something of a trial and we didn’t quite reach the numbers we had anticipated, we took on board Ridgestone’s recommendations for improvement and as a result, our second year has seen significant success, reaching the performance levels we all believed the asset was capable of achieving.

It has truly been a labour of love. I’ve taken a personal approach to continually improving the facilities and implementing the recommendations made for the site by Ridgestone Management Team.

My experience with Ridgestone’s response to any issues on site has been nothing short of exceptional, and I would highly recommend their service offering.

We are now very much looking forward to building on last year’s results and are confident we can push the asset to achieve its highest-ever returns.

We previously used Lakelovers who were ok up until they were taken over by Sykes Cottages. Following this we were inundated with masses of vexatious complaints from customers wanting a refund which Lakelovers were keen to accede to. We ended up losing money hand over fist.

Since moving to Ridgestone we are much happier. Matt and Jack are really hands on businessmen who seem to get what owners and guests want from a holiday rental. They have been very proactive in helping us improve our property with a new bathroom, sauna/ hot tub facility and a new garden room too. They do the work themselves (at a cost) but we are very happy with the results. They seem to be more flexible and proactive about marketing so occupancy is up. Returns for us are good but we think (hope) the experience of staying in our beautiful historic home has made many guests happy too. We think the team at Ridgestone are really excellent, responsive and helpful and have no complaints at all.

They are quick to make suggestions as to how we can improve and enhance the guest experience and if we have any problems (being landlords at a distance) they are always happy to help sort out the issues. Very happy we moved agents. No regrets.

We made the move from one of the large nationals because we weren’t satisfied with the returns and revenues being generated and were not getting the kind of advice and input needed. Once Ridgestone took over, they quite quickly suggested some investment in the property; initially in the form of a hot tub and subsequently a master bedroom refresh. Both projects were carried out by Ridgestone themselves; they have a division that carries out works and delivered both of those projects.

There was an issue with the hot tub room; the flooring and the walls were wet. When the matter came to light, they concluded that remedial ventilation works were needed. Impressively, they took immediate responsibility for remedying the failings of the initial hot tub space and put it right at their expense.

When it came to refreshing our master bedroom, the concepts put forward by Janayer, were quite outstanding. And this project was executed faultlessly.

Other than the first quarter of 2025, we’d been generally pleased with the increase in revenues we’ve had since carrying out the works and Ridgestone’s team have been exceptionally helpful to us. They are very easy to deal with, always a pleasure to talk to and take advice from and willing to listen to our thoughts and opinions.

As well as their own Ridgestone website, they work very closely with booking.com, Airbnb and the online travel agencies. So we get the best of the OTAs as well as direct exposure on their site.

They’re young and they have a very fresh and up-to-date attitude towards the furnished holiday letting market in the Lake District.

We’ve been extremely happy with the decision to switch to Ridgestone and we look forward to working with them into the future and leveraging more from our holiday rental business.
